A Day in Port Alberni

We arrived in Port Alberni Tuesday and the odometer registered 4,973 kilometres. I suppose it must actually be 5,032 since the odometer was not running during the 59 kilometre ferry ride from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay. Perhaps I’ll just let the odometer accumulate until we arrive home. That should make the whole trip somewhat more than 10,000 kilometres. I guess I’ll need an oil change when I get back.

The most westerly stop

Tuesday was another warm sunny day on Vancouver Island. So for that mater was Monday but I took Monday off, no post, so the few photos taken on our trip from Saanich to Port Alberni may be found under Day 14. Vancouver island is a continuum of forests, mountains and lakes. The highway bypasses most of the small towns between Victoria and Port Albernie and the forests and hills offer only occasional glimpses of the ocean.
